Originally from Newry, a border town in the North of Ireland. I completed my undergraduate degree in Ulster University in 2025, coming out with a First-Class Honours degree in Biomedical Engineering, along with a diploma in Professional Practice with Distinction.

For my final year dissertation project, I investigated the behaviour of bacteria on 3D printed titanium surfaces that would be used for orthopaedic implants. This project gave me hands-on experience in a range of laboratory skills, including handling bacteria, applying imaging techniques and developing strong analytical and technical writing skills.

As part of my degree, I undertook an industrial placement year where I worked as a Co-Op R&D Engineer in the Interventional Cardiology department of Boston Scientific in Galway. During my placement year I contributed to the design, development and testing of advanced cardiovascular technologies including stents, cutting balloons and intravascular ultrasound systems. This role gave me valuable insight into medical device innovation, regulatory affairs and the process of translating research into real-World healthcare solutions.

My decision to study Biomedical engineering and undertake a PhD as part of the Tech4Health program was inspired by my own experience using digital health technologies. This sparked my interest in the ways that technology can transform healthcare and improve the life of the patient.

Outside of engineering, I enjoy playing guitar, sketching and crocheting.
